Elizabethan Woman and Man

Dickon wears cream woollen knee breeches over cream woollen hose, with a yellow garter. He wears a white cotton undershirt with lace trimmed "stand-up" collar and wrists. His jerkin is made from seagreen brocade with slashed and puffed sleeves, trimmed with fine braiding. Dickon wears a full beard and moustache and also earrings. His blue felt beret cap is trimmed with black braid and a jewel clasp which holds the feather cockade. His leather shoes have jewelled buckles which match the hat ornament.

Bess is wearing a lilac pink and white narrow striped silk kirtle beneath a leaf green satin overdress which has wide bell sleeves, showing the lace trimmed undersleeves. The overdress is heavily trimmed with green and gold braid and embroidery, and bead encrusted stomacher, with matching black trim and beading. Bess wears a jewelled and beaded sash, with an openwork "pomander" hanging from it, and also a goldwire work sash with a hanging peacock feather fan. She wears a white guipure lace ruff collar (closed as she is a married lady) and on her head she wears a lace cap heavily beaded with gold beads and pearls. She also has earrings. Her skirt is just above floor length and shows her satin shoes with bows, and her white lace stockings can also be glimpsed.
